Beautiful Ecstasy is a collection of Michael Northrup’s snapshot portraits and still lifes, shot in the 70’s and 80’s. Young families - Northrup’s own and friends - are depicted making babies and partying in small town America. The pictures have a feeling of intense ecstasy and danger. This book is full of emotion both jubilant and heartbreaking. Michael Northrup lives in Baltimore. This is a selection of previously unpublished pictures from the mid-70's through the early 80's.
